This blog, Particular Interest, is dedicated to the truth - based on reason, science and fact. I'll try my best not to be swayed by political ideologies and at worst misinformation or ignorance. Keeping an open mind is extremely important in this, paradoxically, hostile yet close knit online community which everyone in the 21st century is a part of. There will be political discussions, economic discussion and most interestingly social discussions that neither belong to the left or the right political hemispheres but to the centre - balanced by factual evidence and looking at situations simply and concisely. There will also be random poetry and short story posts for breaks in discussion. I want you to participate because I believe discussion creates an environment that fosters the best ideas so feel free to comment, criticise, support or ask!

Legal and non-legal responses to housing affordability in Australia have been largely limited in their effectiveness due to issues such as a poor resource allocation, low accessibility and an inability to meet society’s needs. Legally, both State and Federal Governments are restrained, with the constitution giving power to the states to create  legislation for housing.  However state governments are constrained by the lack of funding with the necessity to negotiate with federal treasuries to obtain enough funds for projects – although the Federal Government does provide support to citizens through transfer payments and rent assistance – with house prices continuing to soar and a lack of  law reform in taxation regarding negative gearing andcapital gains ta x being another major issue.
